At Large Applications Now Being Accepted

Golfers from the US and Canada (in the Boys 10-11, Boys 12-13, Girls 10-12 and Girls 13-14 divisions only) who live in an Optimist District that does not offer a qualifier in their age division may submit a US/Canada At Large application for consideration for entry into the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships.  Golfers who live in nations that do not send International Designees to the Optimist may submit an International At Large application.

Special Invitations for the 2011 Optimist Championships

The Optimist Junior Golf Committee has approved a new method for top ranked junior golfers to be considered for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships. A limited number of junior golfers will be eligible for a special invitation based on their national ranking or by winning a top national or international junior golf tournament. New Girls Age Divisions for 2011 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships
Optimist Junior Golf has announced revised age groups for female golfers beginning with the 2011 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships. The new age divisions will be girls 10-12, girls 13-14 and girls 15-18. The age divisions for male golfers will remain the same with boys competing in the boys 10-11, boys 12-13, boys 14-15 and boys 16-18 divisions. A golfer’s division is based on his/her age as of the last day of the applicable international championship tournament. Cutoff dates are July 25, 2011 (boys 10-11, 12-13 & 14-15 and girls 10-12 & 13-14) and July 31, 2011 (boys 16-18 and girls 15-18).

Pull Cart Usage at 2011 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships
The Optimist Junior Golf Committee has approved the use of pull carts for the following age divisions at the 2011 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships: boys 10-11, boys 12-13, girls 10-12 and girls 13-14. Golfers in these divisions who choose to use a pull cart must use a pull cart provided by Optimist Junior Golf. Pull carts will not be permitted in the boys 14-15, boys 16-18 and girls 15-18 divisions. No exceptions.
